What StoryFace Offers

StoryFace is an AI-powered service that transforms photos of children into personalized storybook illustrations. Our services include:

• Photo upload and storage for registered users
• AI character generation using Google Gemini API
• Custom storybook scene creation with consistent character appearance
• Web-based book preview and PDF export
• Book sharing via private links

Acceptable Use

You agree to use StoryFace only for its intended purpose: creating personalized storybooks for children in your care. You may NOT:

• Upload photos of children without parental/guardian consent
• Use the service to create inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
• Attempt to reverse engineer or extract our AI models
• Resell or redistribute generated content commercially without permission
• Interfere with or disrupt our services or servers
• Use the service for any illegal purpose

Account Creation

To use StoryFace, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your password and account credentials
• Promptly update your account information if it changes
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)

Parental Consent

By uploading photos of children, you represent and warrant that:

• You are the parent or legal guardian of the child(ren) depicted
• You have the authority to consent to the processing of their image
• You understand how the photos will be used to generate storybook content

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. If you suspect unauthorized access, please contact us immediately at security@storyface.app.

Your Original Content

You retain ownership of the original photos you upload to StoryFace. By uploading photos, you grant us a limited license to:

• Process the photos through our AI services to generate characters
• Store the photos securely for the duration of your account
• Display photos within your account interface

Generated Content Ownership

The storybook illustrations and content generated by our AI:

• For Personal Use: You own the generated storybooks for personal, non-commercial purposes (printing, sharing with family)
• For Commercial Use: Commercial use (selling, publishing) requires a separate commercial license - contact us for details
• Underlying Technology: StoryFace retains rights to our AI technology, models, and methods used to generate content

Character Consistency

While we strive for consistent character appearance across scenes, AI generation may produce variations. We cannot guarantee 100% consistency in every illustration.

Quality Expectations

AI-generated content quality can vary based on photo quality, lighting, and other factors. We recommend uploading clear, well-lit photos for best results.

No Human Review

Generated content is created automatically by AI without human review of each image. If you encounter inappropriate or unexpected content, please report it immediately.

Third-Party AI

Character generation is powered by Google's Gemini AI. Your use of this feature is also subject to Google's terms of service and privacy policy.

Service Provided "As Is"

StoryFace is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Guarantees that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Guarantees regarding the accuracy or quality of generated content
• Guarantees that defects will be corrected

Limitation of Damages

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StoryFace shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
• Damages resulting from use or inability to use the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages

Maximum Liability

In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.

Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the service will immediately cease
• All your photos and generated content will be scheduled for deletion
• Data will be permanently removed within 30 days
• You will lose access to all storybooks and associated files

Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms of Service
• We detect fraudulent or suspicious activity
• Your account remains inactive for an extended period
• We discontinue the service (with advance notice when possible)

Data Deletion

Upon account deletion, we will permanently remove:

• All uploaded photos and associated metadata
• All generated character images and storybook scenes
• Child profile information
• Account credentials and personal information

Some data may be retained in backup systems for up to 90 days before permanent deletion.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and StoryFace regarding the service.
